Who we are

FAR-SEE 2026 is convened under PRL Vikram Discussions by the Physical Research Laboratory (PRL), A unit of Dept. of Space, Govt. of India, Ahmedabad. The data controller is PRL. For privacy queries, contact the Data Protection Officer at far-see@prl.res.in.

What we collect

  • Registration: name, email, affiliation, country, role, optional ORCID.
  • Technical: server logs (IP, user-agent, timestamps) for security and integrity.

We do not use Google Analytics or third-party advertising trackers. Registration is free, so we do not collect or process any payment information.

Why we collect it

  • To register invited participants for the Vikram Discussion.
  • To send Vikram Discussion logistics (join link, schedule changes).
  • To protect the site from abuse and to investigate security incidents.

Your rights

Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 (DPDP) and aligned with GDPR for EU residents, you may request access, correction, or erasure of your personal data by email.

Data residency & retention

  • Hot logs: 90 days; cold logs: 1 year (encrypted).
  • Audit log: 7 years.
  • Hosting region: India (where feasible) or AWS Mumbai (ap-south-1).

We use only essential cookies — for authentication and to remember your time-zone preference on the programme page. No third-party advertising cookies.

Security incidents

In the event of a reportable cybersecurity incident, we will notify the Indian Computer Emergency Response Team (CERT-In) within 6 hours as required by the 2022 directive, and affected users within statutory timelines.
