About FAR-SEE 2026
The Frontiers of AI Research in Space, Earth System, and Engineering Sciences (FAR-SEE 2026) is a two-day online Vikram Discussion held on 20–21 July 2026. It brings together researchers, academicians, engineers and students working at the forefront of core AI/ML and its applications across the physical sciences and engineering, with a strong focus on space science.
The programme is built around keynote and invited lectures by distinguished experts from academia, national laboratories, government organisations and industry covering fundamental advances as well as emerging applications. Four scientific themes have been identified to cover all areas in which AI/ML is being applied at PRL and across allied disciplines.
The Vikram Discussion is fully online and follows a single track, ensuring every attendee experiences the same continuous scientific conversation.
Participation in FAR-SEE 2026 is by invitation only. Invited participants confirmed their place through a free registration form; there was no registration fee. Registration closed on 15 July 2026, 5:00 PM IST and the portal is no longer accepting entries.
About PRL Vikram Discussions
PRL Vikram Discussions is a focused-topic series hosted by the Physical Research Laboratory, named in honour of Dr. Vikram A. Sarabhai, founder of the Indian space programme. The series convenes researchers around themes of urgent scientific interest promoting cross-disciplinary collaboration, candid technical exchange, and the involvement of early-career scientists.
About PRL
The Physical Research Laboratory (PRL) is a premier research institute under the Department of Space, Government of India. Established in 1947 by Dr. Vikram A. Sarabhai in Ahmedabad, PRL conducts fundamental research in astronomy and astrophysics, planetary sciences, space and atmospheric sciences, geosciences, theoretical physics, atomic-molecular and optical physics, and is increasingly active in AI/ML for the physical sciences.
